It’s not about the amount you give. You don’t have to feel like ‘I can only do a dollar’ because every little bit counts and every dollar we give adds up. [Read Christina’s full interview]
At AltaMed, our employees stand by our mission of providing quality care without exception to the patients and communities we serve.
About AltaMed Gives
Employees in Action!
AltaMed GIVES is in the holiday spirit! We are in pilot phase of our Immediate Needs Fund used by our Giving Ambassadors and our Employee Giving Committee members. If you are not aware, the Immediate Needs Fund is intended to provide support to our patients and participants who lack access to basic necessities affecting their health and well-being. During September’s Employee Giving Committee (EGC) meeting, the EGC voted to launch the Immediate Needs fund to all the AltaMed GIVES participants on November 1st. The requests will be submitted through the AltaMed GIVES website and reviewed by the committee on a weekly basis. Not only is AltaMed GIVES launching the Immediate Needs Fund, but there will also be an increase of upcoming events for the program.
In the next few months, AltaMed GIVES will need your support! In the month of November, we will be collecting canned of food and non-perishable food items to distribute to our clinics for the holidays. Our kick-off for this collection of food will start at AltaMed’s Annual Employee Picnic. Please also feel free to collect food at your work location to help us make a larger donation. If you would like to collect food at your site, please contact Priscilla De La Cruz at [email protected].
Finally, we are excited to announce that the committee has budgeted $4,000 towards matching AltaMed’s Annual Toy Drive for our patients across our sites. Friday, December 1 is the last day to donate for the Toy Drive. Please contact Maggie Escobar, Executive Assistant, at 323-889-7327 or [email protected] for more information. The distribution of toys and winter packets will come in the months to follow.
Thank you for all participating in this program, without you, none of this would be possible!

AltaMed GIVES is looking for volunteers for two major events during this holiday season!

Why I Choose to Give
“I give because often patients need more than just medical care. Sometimes they need essential living things such as adequate housing, food, and shelter, that affects their health. Giving through our AltaMed GIVES program will help meet our patient’s needs in the community.” -Dr. Jorge Galdamez, Medical Director Santa Ana Bristol
